My mini doesn't get used much. When I first drive it the gears are easy to select. After about 10 minutes driving, the gears become hard to select then soon after I can't select any gears. When the gear selection becomes hard and then nothing, the the clutch pedal feels soft to nothing, not nice and firm through the entire motion.
After about half an hour resting, It is good to go again through the cycle described.
Any ideas what's happening or needed to fix?
Thanks

Top up the clutch master cylinder and bleed it at the slave cylinder nipple.

Thanks Dr, did that yesterday. Took the car for a drive today. Returned to the same scenario after ten minutes driving

When you bleed it did air come out? If so, do it again. If more air comes out the slave cylinder is sucking air. Some aftermarket slave cylinders (the cheapo ones) have no seal spreader like originals did.
Genuine AP cylinders still do.
Alternatively, PM me your address and I will send you a seal spreader. They are unavailable from Mini parts suppliers.

This "collector" has a little stockpile.

The slave cylinder is the original Lockheed. Might take it to the brake shop tomorrow for a rekit and see if that makes any difference.

Hone it and fit a new seal and boot. The seal is a std 7/8" cup, any brake shop would have one for $5.
I have never ever bought a new slave cylinder for my Minis.

Have a good look at the flexible hose going to the slave cylinder as well...if old and perished, think about replacing it :-)
