There is one on the back of my block My small bore doesnt have it and not all 1275s have it
My mate thinks 1/8 pipe thread I dont know and need one.
Ideas gents??

They were a solid brass plug originally, 0.503" diameter pressed into a 0.500" hole.
If it has been tapped out it's probably now 3/8 bsp or maybe 5/8 unf. Need to measure the plug.
If not tapped buy a new plug from minikingdomonline or Karcraft or other Mini place.

ohhh, that one!

I have at least one block with one of those - I'll check it - it does have a big flat head, but 1/8 BSPT would make sense given a/ it's an oil gallery and b/ that's the oil pressure outlet thread on the front of the block

Ian - in your picture, are you referring to the empty hole or the one with a big flat head already in place? If the latter then the parts books show this as a water jacket access hole. Some vehicles had a tap installed there.
