I’ve always wondered what the correct orientation should be for the battery obviously negative towards the rear of the car. But are terminals closer to the spare tyre/centre of car or towards the drivers side?

I don't remember the number, but it's a V6 VT/VX Commodore battery from memory - the terminals are near the outside of the car.

Towards the spare wheel. I don't like the terminals near the RH tank.

That's safer IMO, even if not originality correct.

Mine is a Century 58EB MF (560CCA). I would have swapped the terminal direction, but there wasn't enough length on the positive end to stretch it over

Does the old battery cover still fit with the terminals on that side?

I'm not sure, I don't have the standard cover. Originally the battery was that direction with the terminals near the RHS tank

It's very easy to install too, just a short battery/earth strap and earth/earth strap. I made a new board to suit the twin tanks and isolator
