Does anyone know if there’s a manual available for the ac fitted to the rover minis?

I can’t work mine out!

The green circled knob seems to just turn a quarter turn, no clicks, but do nothing obvious

The yellow circled Fan knob seems to have three or four positions it clicks into but nothing happens until the 4th when AC blasts

I think the blue circled pull knob is for the normal hot air Intake from the engine. Unclear if I pull for hot air or push it in?! Feels like hot air coming in when the knob is pushed in...

Any thoughts would be great thank you

Here is a 1992-1996 manual, it may be of some assistance.

https://www.miniscene-unterfranken.de/w ... _92-96.pdf

On other cars I have seen the fan resistors stuff up causing loss of the lower fan speeds.

Thanks for the link
Handy for my library but it’s a repair manual so much more technical than my stupid questions require!

I’ll see if I can find some fan resistor I do though, thanks for the suggestion

Sounds like the fan resistor has gone to lunch.

That one is pull for heat. The heater and aircon units are completely separate systems?

This drivers handbook doesn't include air con, but chances are there's one somewhere on the net. I found this Googling Rover Mini drivers handbook so suggest you do some searching.

Thanks! Great tips, I’ll try the Facebook and didn’t find any Ac stuff in the handbook but did find some other useful information :)

No luck with any handbooks or Facebook but I joined the UK mini forum (blasphemy!) and there is a rover sport section there which is quite active.

The consensus is the green knob is the thermostat / temperature and the fan blower switch is the yellow but the resistor pack is gone.

So the next step, if I can be bothered, is finding the resistor pack part, and where the hell it goes in my mini!!

The resistor pack should be in the ducting near the blower. They mount them in the airflow to cool the resistors.

Ah ok... somewhere in the impossible-to-remove plastic surrounds! Interesting how little this is covered online, can't find any info about it at all.

All good! I enjoy working things out, except when I break stuff and make it worse

This is the resistor pack you are looking for, it is in the bottom of the evaporator, secured by 1 screw.
