From my observations, some parts had numbers, others didn't. No real consistency there :?

Hi Cooperess

If you do a search on the forum, you will get all the details regards Engine colour details.
I had mine colour matched from an original part and don't have the details to mix a colour sorry.

Hi Firefirey
I never have any luck using forum search.

I guess your respray colour would be a few shades lighter than original due to many years of exposure.

I think it is unlikely that the engine/box and other brackets in the engine bay get much exposure to fade them.
The photo from Firefirey looks close enough to other Ss I've seen.

I have a formula for Sherwood Green (which is virtually the same as Green Met.) but it is useless to others unless it was mixed with the same brand and paint system - like enamel, 2K, etc.

After all these years nobody can say what the exact colour should be. And there would have been variations in batches used in the factory too.

Sherwood Green, the Chrystler/Mitsubishi version and NOT the Ford version of green with the same name

I wonder how many cans will be required to do engine and gearbox etc.

Personally I reckon that non-aerosol product could be brushed on without detracting from the finished appearance. I have a can already and that's what I plan to try first.

Having said that I'd guess one spray can would be enough for engine and gearbox if carefully applied.
