I came across a few discrepancies between the workshop manuals, factory drawings and what was actually fitted to a number of original cars so I have done up a cheat sheet that has the different combinations of the 12AUW Wiper Systems used. Hopefully it is of use to someone. If your car is unrestored and different to what I have then please share.

From what I can work out there are at least 4 styles –
1. Single speed wiper motor fitted to the late MK1 range from April 1968
2. Single speed wiper motor fitted to the MK2 Range from March 1969.
3. 2 Speed wiper motor fitted to the Police MK2 Cooper S from August 1970.
4. 2 Speed wiper motor fitted to the Clubman and Leyland Range from June 1971.

Some of the differences I have found between actual cars and the wiring diagrams/drawings are as follows
1. For the MK2 Range Wiring Diagrams - The “Green / Yellow” wire should be “Red / Light Green”
2. For the MK2 S 2 Speed Upgrade Factory Drawing – The “Green / Blue” wire should be “Blue / Light Green”
3. For the Clubman Leyland Range Wiring Diagrams - The colours are back to front for the “Black / Green” wire and the “Blue / Light Green” wire.
