No, But I bought the original Mk1 type sponge seal from MiniSport in UK for $10 years ago.
I gave up on the ******' clips though- Selleys Kwikgrip adhesive is my friend..

Has anyone fitted a seal to their boot that attached to the body instead of the boot lid? (English style) If so, what did you use and does it work well? |

Oh christ! This has to be the worst part of the rubbers on a mini. Tip: if you have the boot type one (like i do) wait until a hot day, or week preferably in summer. Yes indeed, i did use loctite and this works wonderfully. Place dabs of glue on top of the clips and if the clips stick up, use a rubber mallet to tap them down. I did this a couple of months ago and worked well. The boot closed up good but DID NOT close. It was about 20mm away from the latch. Christ we were pushing as hard as we could (2 people) and it still wouldnt compress up. Maybe the warmer weather will cause the rubber to be floppier and it will bed in quicker. Lets see where we are in about december

I think the Mini MK1 boot seal was invented before contact adhesive, but it works a treat!

mmmmm....the clips are $1.10 each and you need 26 of the fu(kers.....forget that, I will glue the bastard on. I had a Torana with new door seals years ago and I couldn;t close the doors on that.....I bet I get the same prob with the boot seal on my mini....grrr....

Yeah, i replaced the rubbers on my doors with proper mini ones 6 months ago and they still have to be more or less slammed to get the bloody doors closed
