David Clark at All Car Carpets in suburban Melbourne, the company that makes the Mark 1 and 2 Cooper S carpet, is looking for any information on the carpets fitted originally to the Oz produced 997 and 998 Morris Cooper. He is wanting to source the most suitable equivalent material so he can offer Cooper carpet sets to we Mini enthusiasts.

If you have detailed pics showing the colour and style please post here and I will forward on to him.

Additionally, if you have components of an original carpet set that you are willing to loan for inspection and return he would be most grateful. David's family are BMC enthusiasts and can be trusted to safeguard any sample provided. I loaned him a set of MK II S carpets for the same purpose.

I have a set of green Cooper carpets available and a small fragment of a grey set. Happy to loan these if that can help. I found a suitable grey carpet for a restoration from a South Australian manufacturer. Thes carpets are a loop style not Westminster and have flecks of other colours such as brown , black and white. You can see the brown in the pics of the green set and how the green was in the more protected ares. These are alos the same as early 1965 Australian cooper S.
PM me if I can help.

The English grey/Cherry Red Cooper I last restored had grey carpets with red trim. I have a Dusk Blue/White with blue carpets. Another restoration was Osmond green with green carpets. Can't seem to remember red carpets in an Australian Cooper but maybe there were. Pretty sure red trim used grey carpets.
