I like the old days, when old cars were for enjoyment not 'investments'.

Anyone who gets a car as an investment neexs their head read. Some did well and got really lucky, some are now stuck with a rusty heap they paid too much for. They don't hold forever, look at hot rods. 100k could be spent on one and nobody wants them.

If I'm carrying on like a pork-chop, I'm having a great time.

If I go very quiet there's a very good chance I broke something.

Disagree...some cars are eminently collectable and capable of appreciating whilst standing still...Hot Rods, on the other hand, can and do require huge funds to produce something very specialised, and that may only be liked by the person who built the car!

My opinion, for what it's worth is 'It all in the eye of the beholder'.

The only car I’ve every actually made money on was a 1998 LR Defender I bought about 4 years ago. Paid $10,500 for it and sold it 10 months later for $16,500.
