Remember the extensive week-long celebrations for 50 Years of Mini Production in Australia held at this time of the year in 2011? Much of it organised by The Mini Experience magazine and Craig Watson if I recall, including the big meet at Wakefield Park Raceway, though there were also smaller celebrations in other states put together by local Mini clubs. Ten years later, there's been little mention of the 60th anniversary, and as far as I'm aware no celebrations are planned. A COVID casualty? Or just nobody to drive it like there was in 2011?

It is a shame that it is only a one day event and essentially another car show. Yes, COVID has been an issue but it is a pity that all states could not get together to organize a long weekend celebration. I guess the 50th event is a really hard act to follow.
