Post subject:  What would you pay for a 1275 Metro A+
Hi Guys

Was in one of our Mini retailers today and they had one of these on sale. It came with a Rod box Dizzy and thats about it. I did not ask to much about it but it hs been rebuilt and in good Condition but unable to tell be about the sincro's. Aperently it ran nicely with no smoke or rattles (lets hope not).

1275 Metro A+ for $2750

What do you recon.

Sounds a bit dear to me... considering mileage etc is unknown.

I guess there's no warranty, if it turns out to be a dud?

Personally, I'd rather buy a clunker for a lot less $$$, and recondition it- then you know it's good!. :wink:

yes, I've seen them in that state for about the same price. I want one but considering it costs, what, almost a couple of grand to really fix one (with a bit of go faster/run quieter gear) it makes a very expensive donk.. not inc gearbox

Northern Mini Parts used to sell second hand 1275 A+ (not MG) for around $1500 with a warranty. Probably a little pricier now.

Go twist Ivan's arm at Mini Spares, ask if he can start it and check compression pressure.

If it's any good, at that price he should give you some warranty- ask what happens if... :wink:

I may do that but also get a little more info on the engine, surley they striped it and recond it themselves.

They do charge $15.90 for 3 wheels nuts and washers for My dunlop wheels. But they are nice and shinny shame the rest are not.

Or, you could pick up a 1275 block, crank, rods etc and get it bored. Ping kazjim if interested- he still has some of this s/h 1275 stuff for sale.
I just got me another head... :P

i got one from northern mini put into mine and it runs a treat, sounds heaps better and goes alot harder than the pussy 1098 i had in there (it was knackered), i havent had any dramas so far!!!

I concur with the Doc, sounds pricey for condition unknown...

At Padstow Car Clinic they have completely tested and reconditioned 1100's for around $2500 price range, but at least you know it's working and has a warranty
