Hi,
Another question, my mk 1 S originally had porcelain green interior , and I'm returning it to that colour.
My question is what colour was the vinyl for the insulation in the engine bay, and the boot board.
The boot insulation under the rear parcel shelf was black, hence my questioning of the engine bay and boot board.
Thanks in advance.

From what I have seen the Black Boot Boards were used on cars in 1967 with Black Trim.

Car 3181 was Green and 3226 was Blue

I don't have any factory info on the change point to just standard Black. My guess is late 1967 - early 1968

The Mid 1967 spec sheet still lists the boot board the same as the trim colour.

Thanks for the information, as my car is 65/66 it looks like the boot board should be green. 65 on the rego papers but the number is 66 in the sequence of car numbers on the forum S register. One of lifes mysteries.
Unfortunately the one I have is black as when I bought the car the boot board was missing and I had to source another one.
I think I'll leave it black for the moment,
Rgds Stewart
