Presumably it is considered OK to fit rear seatbelts although not fitted originally.

It’s a sensible safety feature so certainly OK. First fitted to NSW Police Minis in the 1970’s.

If fitted correctly I'd say yes.

Check out a later model Clubbie to see how the factory reinforced the rear parcel shelf/belt mounts to support 3 point belts.
