Has anybody managed to replace the nylon(?) inserts for the lens fixing screws in the round nose, 2 screw tail lamps. The ones on mine are mangled.

No, I haven't needed to replace those.
They look fairly straightforward, except for the angled shape of the grommet top. Most commonly available grommets seem to be flat-faced to fit flush on a body panel for headlights, trim etc. but I think you might still manage to make the bolts line up with the hole in a different grommet.
Another option might be to leave the damaged original grommet in place and push one of those small grommets used on the boot badges GFK7514.

The nylon inserts can get damaged when a LH base is used on the RH side, and vice versa. Instead of simply rotating the insert 180 degrees some people drill a new hole in it..

How many of yours are damaged?

Not sure if this would work on these, but i have used this method on other plastic nuts...
Fill the holes in the nylon with hot glue, then while still hot insert the screw. When it's cooled down, unscrew and hey presto, a threaded plastic nut.

Paul.

One on each lamp, winabbey. I like the hot glue idea from TDS76.

Hi winabbey. That's a very noble gesture, but I live in Spain. If it's still at all viable I'd appreciate its greatly.

I've done that with Araldite.
