Hi all
I’m sussing out the gear lever rattle in my S. I have ordered a new tensioner spring and brass sleeve but my question is to do with the washer (AEG3122) that is supposed to be under the tensioner bolt thingy.
It seems like it has been removed by someone in the past to increase the spring tension by allowing the tensioner bolt to sit further inwards.
I can source a new washer if I need one in there but with the new spring and brass bush I am wondering if anyone can advise me of the washer thickness so that I don’t put too much pressure on the gear change rod.
Currently. With the old anti rattle components and a missing washer the bolt is almost bottomed out before I have resistance as it makes contact.

Any suggestions?
Thank you
Neil

Can't answer your specific question but in case it helps this is the exploded parts diagram.

This is what the washer looks like. There are several Australian sources of supply.
