On the Mk1 S with front clear beehive lens indicator. Is the globe itself orange or clear? Is it a twin filament globe?

Yes it’s a twin filament bulb. One filament for the indicator and one for the parking light

I have installed on two cars a dual purpose LED that shows normally as a parker, and orange when the indicators are used.

I used some 1157 switchback led bulbs, along with a Tridon HD13 electronic flasher unit. No wiring changes were needed, just install the bulbs and flasher

Parking lights are white
Indicators are amber
If you have the parking lights on, then turn on the indicator, the parking light goes out

I was lucky - I just bought and fitted the LED bulbs only and they worked perfectly.

I've ordered a pair.
Edit
I already have an electronic flasher can.

Just fitted and working fine. Lots brighter than the old candles.
Edit
Flasher relay is already a Tridon HD13.

I put mine in and took them back out. The parkers were brighter than my head lights…… and I didn’t like the different colour temperatures. White/yellow (candle).
