Hey, y'all,
people keep asking me "where can they get a Weber manifold.."

I was down at Mini Classic yesterday, he has a bunch of Redline 3005 manifolds, same as I'm running. Approx $120 each. That's a good price for NEW ones...

These are the longest you can fit without putting a box in.

They just fit with a Lynx Ramflo offset filter.

To get the best from them on big motors with a 45DCOE they could do with some porting- I spent 9hrs inside mine...

Oh of course they will fit Dellorto carbs, too.

They work a lot better than those crap gooseneck ones Lynx used to sell- I had one!

I was told that you need to modify the firewall to fit a webber, is that correct?

NO,
Not unless you want to fit a race manifold. Whilst these do add a few HP, the short ones are surprisingly good when ported out. 8)

The other problem with the long ones(ooh, er!) apart from welding a box in and relocating wiring (roundnose), is the centre speedo often has to be gutted or (re)moved..

So these Redline 3005 manifolds don't need the firewall cut or any other wiring mod? Can I bolt it straight onto an 1098? (assuming I replace the exhaust manifold.)

Sure can!

But there's just enough room for a Ramfo filter, not much else... but I've run one for 10 years with a Finer Filter foam in it with no problems! 8)

Its a good idea to hit the lip of the speedo opening flat under the these manifolds

The manifold can bottom out from the flex in the motor on its mounts from hard starts. The bottoming causes the manifold gaskets to compress at the top and seperate at the bottom which results in at best loss of power at worse a burnt out piston from air entering the mixture.

I agree, good idea, a hit with a BFH gives a bit more clearance.

I also modded my manifold by milling the carb flange angle up by 4* which also helps clearance. The 45 Dellorto doesn't complain about it, even when facing downhill. And it reduces the bend angle in the ports. 8)
