Well, all I can say is without my father I woulda been completely screwed. The old man was always there to help me out, when...

I blew three auto gearboxes in my old car.
I ran same car into a tree off the highway.
When one wheel decided to go bush on the highway(some generous mongrel had undone the wheel nuts on all four wheels.
The coppers fizzed me, and put me over the machinery pits 5 freakin times.

and then there's the other cars LOL.

Seriously, if you have a TAFE somewhere near, and can spend the time, do an automotive course. Once you know how everything works in general, you'll be able to figure out the differences on different cars yourself.

Hi MiniE,

Sheesh!, I've been around over half a century and I still learn things everyday!!

Good on you for taking an interest. Do a course if you like, or just do lots of reading here and in workshop manuals.....but.....most of all...enjoy your Mini and stay safe! 8)

BTW the day this forum becomes boys only.......I'm outta here :x
