perhaps cooper s bakes aren't everyones preference, because they won't have clamping force or looks of those suckers. and they are more expencive

it's getting rarer and rarer to find cheap factory disks

Hanra: How much you put them together for?

Brake Conversion so far:

2 new RDA Rotors: $88
2 2nd hand calipers: $110
Machine work: $451
2 Caliper Kits: $38
4 RDA brake pads: $44
Powdercoating: $200

Total: $931

I like a challenge, so thats why i prefered to do this. Plus the larger size of 9.1 inches was appealing!!!!!

Sure thing. But only for people who enjoy the norm, dont want to think or challenge themselves or standout from a crowd....

Hmmmm. I can just see myself doing front flips down the highway as i stand on the brakes from 80 k/ph.... All thanks to a decent tailwind....

Hey Hanra, you could simply get a couple more of the templates laser cut to recoup some of your money. "For race purposes only" of course.

I reckon they look fantastic. One thing, are you using the S Hub?

But? Then they'd become the norm, not stand out and us silly buggers would not have to think!

If you were up for it, I'm sure there would be plenty of people wanting them.

If not, send the specs - I know a few people with access to the fun machines that we can only dream of.

Or I may have to start thinking.. :?

OK, so ive just go the LHS caliper kits into the calipers... Pulled the LHS drum brakes off, and got everything mounted up. Just gave the fronts a quick bleed, got a pedal no worries. No leaks either...... Ill get some more brake fluid 2morrow and do all four wheels 2morrow.....And maybe even go for a test drive....

mmm.... tasty :)

Just hope those standard studs are strong enough to hold the wheels on when you hit those anchors..

Wouldnt really b any different to having S spacerd Drums on the front... The studs are the same. A few people have this brake setup and im pretty sure there wheels havnt come off during braking!!!!

I'm sure I read somewhere that either major power or brake upgrades (can't remember which) ran the risk of generating more torque than the standard (3/8" ?) Mini wheel studs could safely handle without shearing..

I don't think I've seen brakes as big as yours on a Mini before.. just a thought, might be worth checking the shear strength of the studs.. safe side and all...

the traction available far out ways the shear strength of a high tensile wheel sted. lock-up's occur a long time before shearing 8)

Speaking of lockups, did you change the rear wheel cylinders yet? If not they will certainly lock when you hit em hard... not fun on the freeway at 120 Kliks...
Cure is fit Cooper S ones (5/8") instead of the stocko 3/4s.
