how do i tell the year model of my car i was told it was 65 by a so called expert but i have my doubts

look on the boot latch or the windscreen wiper motor, if the dates on both these are close you will atleast have a year ;)

it has 4 64 stamped on wiper motor nothing on boot latch

Check the colour shown on the BMC body plate- then look on http://www.elevenhundred.com/colours.htm
for colour match by year.

the paint is a 1964 as is the window wiper motor and the number plate holder. thanks for all the help

The glass on all these cars has the date it was manufactured coded into the logo on it. Not a well known fact. I forget how to read it but will check when I get a chance/ It was not hard to do IIRC.
