Im currently running twin 1.5su's on the moke (1275), is there any benefit from putting a webber on, or should I stick with the Su's. They run fine, but I must admit i like the sound of the weber, but dont know much about them performance wise. Also will one fit in the moke without having to chop out the firewall?!

I'll have to sus yours out on the 19th, I'm running twin 1.25's at the moment and they're not big enough I think.

HIff44 also here and I'm running it on a 1098 +60thou and RE13 Cam

Best part about it, it has the float under the carb and not on the side.

Other wise the induction sound on a Dellorto is pure hea ven

Do not know as I have never run a Dellorto or webber.

i say you should stick to the twin SU's
i know theyre a hassle to tune

but webers and dells were made for racing,
ie power, throw as much fuel into the engine as possible
and ive been told that the difference in fuel they throw into the 2nd and 3rd
cylinders compared to the 1st adn 4th, screws the engines up

with twins, even more distributed across manifold

ive always had the impression: more power/racing = less life

some people will strongly disagree

I have found with a set of su that are not setup right can also use a lot of fuel My 1.25 Twins used more fuel then my Single 1.75 i would only get 22Kms out of 1/4 of a tank of fuel. (single Tank) Now i get about 50 K's out of 1/4 of a tank.

It surprises me that people don't use bike carbs more. Small, tunable. Only hassle I would think is making a manifold and routing the cables or linkages but cheap.

Even better would be fuel injection from a recent bike like a Duke or similar, and a homemade ECU (See this month's Retro cars for a 130 sterling set-up). okay, so quite a bit of work, but engine sizes are about the same and tuning would be by laptop and not greasy fingers. Better pickup and response, and not space issues. Oh, and a wee "IE" logo on the boot? Nah, an old Capri MkIII "injection" sticker on the side.

But what would I know, my Clubman's STILL running on 3... but my CBR600 still puts out 90bhp. Maybe a project once I finish the bodywork and someone local trashes their Ducati.
