In the late 90's I was working one night at the airport and a massive hail storm swept accross.....

Smashed holes in the hangar roof, hammered planes on the tarmac, smashed windows on EVERY car in the car park....no exaggeration.

One guy I knew bought a brand new car the day before and parked outside (normally he parks in security undercover parking). His car was trashed!!

So yea Scott, we have itsy bitsy hail storms just like you....

SK - That green van with the one piece rear door was built by a VMCI member. He sold it to buy a BINI !!

You can buy a seal at Clark Rubber for the roof vent. I fitted one to mine, and I can now hose the vent with a pressure washer and it does not leak. :D

If you do take the vent off, don't throw it out! They are quite sought after to replace broken/missing ones. The same vent was also used on Austin Healey Hardtops or something.

I don't have an original one, it had crumbled to nothing. I just drove to clark rubber and tried a few different seal profiles in the carpark until I found one that fitted well.

Can post pics in the next few days.

Ok the plate says:

Model 850 Van
Type: YIBAV1R
Colour 1/ Toga White /3
S/N 5291

Coundnt find anything on the engine itself, but it could be hidden under a smudge of oil. Ill have to investigate further.
The flat roof does have a usless little oval vent.

I work with Biomedical Eng over here in a hospital, seems like a good occupation to follow. Lots of interesting stuff to play with and design. Yeah Elec is a bitch the maths is crazy. But not having done mechanical I can only assume it just as hard.

Pics of the van are coming soon.

Fez yep you have an 850 van where is the gear stick comming out at, At your feet or right next to you...The Engine number will be on an exposed section under the head to the right (nearet to the Radiator and above the altanator). Also while your at it have a look for the Gearbox number. get yourself a light and get under the front it will be also on the right hand side adove the fins.

I'd say it's secured, because it don't come off!

Poee, your seal is missing too!

The seal glues onto the roof near the rivets/bolts and fills the gap between roof and hatch when the hatch is closed. I'll post photos tomorrow.
