as a kid i remember seeing a mini with a rolls royce grille and headlights grafted on... strange as that may sound , from memory it was awesome, looked really good and a very tidy job. it made the papers as the owner claimed he had dreamt of owning a roller all his life but realised he would never have enough dosh.. anyone remember seeing it, are there any others done? anyone got a pic???

I've seen a pic of that somewhere years ago. Also one of the upmarket UK bodyworks used to fit Mercedes 220SE headlamps to custom Minis. Didn't look too bad..

here is the roller front... mustard indeed :? done by Brian Luff as a bit of a joke, Brian Luff was responsible for the Minipower special, rear-engined mini based lotus seven competitor

and here is the benz headlights that doc refers to, courtesy of Wood & Pickett - not too bad Doc, not too good either, but maybe preferable to a clubman :P

and here is one of those hatchback conversions people were chatting about a while ago

The second one's like when a roundie meets a clubbie.
The last one isn't too bad. Make that stereo easier to fit.
