Ah.....good stuff! Get yourself some offcuts and practice - LOTS!

Since you have replacement floor sections and the right gear, there will be no excuses for dodgy work!

Good luck.

i think that'll be the only way to go anyway. My dad complains about our Mig always "getting the wire stuck". Can anyone decipher what he does wrong?

ah, the perennial `wire stick' problem!

Assuming you mean wire sticking in the torch:
1. Rusty wire.
2. worn tip.
3. torch liner jammed up with debris.
4. Wire drive rolls dirty, or worn out.

If you mean `sticking on the job as you try to weld,:
1. Voltage too low.
Wire feed too high (for the voltage).
Bad earth connection.
4. Holding torch too far away from job.
5. Gas blockage (if using solid wire).

If all else fails, get somebody with MIG experience to test run it. "It ain't rocket science!"
(although I conned people that it is- I was Welding Engineer at Rheem from 1979 until Xmas, 2003)
