Do a Kazjim Special and DROP the compression, mod the exhaust manifold, Drop a Turbo onto it, modify the carb for blow-through (or get a HIF-6 From a Metro Turbo)

Bobs your mother's brother.....

Total cost (if you do as much yourself as possible) is about $2000 ........

Total output.... about 3 times factory is a conservative guess at 10Psi boost .....

kept up with Dean's 1380 (105HP on GR's Dyno....) on the main straight at Wakefield

Later

Yes but i don't think a worn down 850 could handle a Garret T3 strapped to the back of it, but then again it would be fun while it lasted and second hand 850's are cheap as.

Easy.. use a small turbo from a Japanese Kei Class .....

Hey, yuo want to make power, you're rebuilding it anyway !
Its just the same as a standard rebuild, just lower compression and less advance !

I actually ran my current 998 in N/A trim for a year before dropping the huffer on.....

Doesnt look real standard, but crap, it beefs the midrange and top end incredibly !

Still undersquare bore/stroke, though- it ain't no Ford or Corolla!
850 crank's webs are thinner than all other Mini cranks, too (same width as 948 Minor).
I broke one thru the front web, and that motor never saw more than 6500 revs...

I have never seen any mini crank over 10000rpm...
I would like think my race car could hit 10k but i'm to scared to try,
knowing the expense if it broke.
If your at 12000rpm you should have changed gear 6000rpm ago.

Roughly 10.5:1 depending on the fuel available in your area.
If you build it to run premium unleaded this will be fine.
Any more compression than this and you have to run 102 octane unleaded as we do.
But it's $3.30 a litre

No way you can stroke an 850 crank. If you wanna stroke an 850 get a 998 or 1098 crank, the block then needs the main bearing widths narrowed so the crank will drop in.
Then remember the 850's cam only has one bearing (front) not 3 like all others.
i think I would just get a 998/1098 block/crank/pistons, save all the aggro.
Plenty about... everywhere! 8)
