hah :D out of action for a few weeks with new babies indeed

glad you finally got the courage to go and ask him. no problems driving it home - you are allowed to drive an unregistered vehicle to places of mechanical repair or inspection for the purposes of effecting registration (love that lawyer talk). Your house is a place of mechanical repair to effect registration :!:

can't wait for pics

The constabulary do take a dim view of this sometimes. While doing a brake test for an original rego blue slip on son's Clubbie a while back, the tester was accosted by the fuzz who gave him a hard time. Cops tried to make out it was illegal. He told them to go do their job and he would do his..

Well done Anton,

I will have to check out the owners manual, to see what it had in it for my mini K.

Well the deal is done. The old bloke loves to talk....I just couldn't get away from him!!

He has kept EVERYTHING that has been replaced in the car...including a muffler with holes galore! I feel so honured to be taking a box of broken bits with the car! He even gave me his armourall, chamois, spare jack, old club lock etc!

The floors are MINT! So is the boot!! IT has vinyl floor covering, but a set of old carpets in a box as well. As I said earlier, it's got the original dealers badge on the back, and under the hood is a plaque with the dealers address and the original rego plate number, engraved into it. Hasn't been registered since 2000, but he has EVERY rego paper for it, every receipt for it, and the original owners manual.

Interior is IMMAC, exterior needs a buff, but is very sound with NO RUST.

I am just going to drive ot home, park it and leave it till I know what the hell I am doing with a roundie!

Nah, this one is a 1970.....still the old style handles.

I offered him $1000 and he said OK. When I came back to pay, he said $1000 was too much, so we settled on $800 :P

Stole it?? Maybe....but he did say he has had quite a few people knock on his door and ask him if it's for sale, but no one wanted to do what I am proposing (Mini Car Club club plate rego). I think the old boy is happy it's going to a good home.

Oh yea, he also gave me a new battery charger, multi meter, blinker flasher unit, wheel brace, side wind shield, jerry can, funnel, 5L of motor oil....... the list goes on!

My wife is quietly excited about it........probably because it goes, and can be driven......

muah ha ha ha ha

Mate with known history like that, it must be kept as it is!

$800, WOW! That wont be matched, thats for sure! U need to get that thing back on the road where it should be, ASAP.

Is there any way in NSW to get it registered with the original rego number?
