For those of you who have kill switches... or are thinking of fitting.
Just helped mooman fit 45 weber to the moke...
car won't start. 4 mechanics later, mooman remembers his kill switch.
all i can say is... clown.

Forgot about the fuel pump cutoff switch on my old Gemini once. Drove out of a shopping centre carpark and booted it into the traffic. Float bowl emptied and splutter, splutter, cough cough. Stalled in the middle of Kingsway outside Westfield Miranda (Sydney) while I groped underthe dash for the switch.

I have an immobilser which requires a proximity tag to activate. Took the car into a sydney Mini workshop for some work and explained to the guy how the tag worked. Went to pick the car up and found out he had had to push the car around all day as he couldn't get it started and needed to move it in and out of the workshop a few times.

His parting words were no one will ever steal THAT car - I hop in, turn the key and away it goes - the look on his face was priceless!

Not as embarassing as sitting in the staging lane in front of the crowd at Calder Park for 20 minutes trying to start a big block Ford with the fuel pump switched off......still, it got a big applause when the problem was rectified, I hear.
