Hi cazmo,
I have had the mk3 column sitting around for years from my old mk3 inport mini and had to make sum room in the shed for new stuff so off to flea bay it went. when I sent it off to the auction winner it was 5.7kg all packed up if that is any help.

Strangely my Mini K had the flasher circuit stalk when I bought it. I just wired it all up so it dipped and flashed, and removed the floor switch.

These flasher type switches have been current supply for a while now. PO probably didn't know the difference..

The one that was sold to me 12 months ago by Morwood motors was actually for a 1984 land rover - the same issue confronted me - 1 extra wire and different plug arrangement - pulled all the plugs out of the new stalk and inserted them into the mini male plug, clip and all...still working a treat. A bit fiddly but still working...Rob

Yes the Land Rover one fits, beware though- the radius inside the clamp is bigger. I had one once with a bush in it. 8)

I've been told Mk 1 Escort and Capri use the same stalk as a Mini too. Can't confirm it's true though. So next time you see a British Ford in Pick-a-Part, have a look at the stalk.
