hey guys, just wondering if you guys reccomend (or don't reccomend) any auto electritian in brisbane for fixing the wiring in my mini. it is quite a mess and nothing works..
i don't know much about wiring so if you could help it would be much appreciated .
if possible could you also give a price estimate for such work so i know what to expect

sorry im in sydney, but your probably looking at a full days work if there using the standard loom and it all needs to be checked out, id say around $400 for it.

If you get a new loom it may be cheaper to do it yourself.

atleast $400 for a loomk repair or $1000+ for a custom made loom. ( or if you are game enough fit one from a different car along with the dash )

My new loom cost $300 + GST from Northern Mini in Melbourne (pick it up while down there on business) It came from a guy in WA I've heard mentioned as a supplier. easy enough to rewire with the diagram (supplied) and the manual and a bit of patience

i had budgeted around $3-400 for the job so now i know i can get it done for that i am quite relieved . is it possible to get someone to come out to the house and do it or do i have to hire a trailer.... again

you may find a mobile auto electrician, look in your local phone book most auto elecs will go on callouts, but expect to pay a bit more for their travel ( they may even charge time and a half )

I bought a loom (just front end) for $150-odd from Mini Spares Centre in NSW, and installed it myself. I made it hell neat (you just tuck most of it under a black cable cover thingy). The trick is to write down what colour wires you unplug from each device and have a wiring diagram handy. Mine works perfectly. And I trust myself more than some random electrician who might not give a damn about tidyness etc. You can be as fussy as you want to be. Also, saves the cash.

BTW, I redid my wiring because my brother put the battery in backwards. "Hey is that smoke coming from your car---OH HOLY $%@&!" Yeah, I laugh NOW...
