the 1.3i club ey.....

This is a long term plan.......funds do not permit ANY engine at the moment. That's what having kids does to ya.....so be warned all you young and single blokes!

I will take Aaron's advice and do a lot of research before committing cash. NSW is known for doing things the hard way!

A general rule on engine conversions is that you must use the emissions system off the engine that you implant.... ie, a 1995 engine must have 95 cat, cannisters, injection etc.
no matter of the year of the vehicle. but you can't put an early engine in a late car.

If i had a clubman, money was not an issue, and neither was time, and the goal was total perfection then I would do what was on the cover of Mini World's September 2004 (I think). It featured a blue clubman A series with a 8 port head and twin webber 40's facing forward (Something like that). It looked bling and I am sure it went well too!

But the idea of 1.3i is also cool! Aircon, power windows, central locking, alarm, schweeet! 8)

I've got both... 8 port and a rover.
The 8 port is a lot of fun, but it breaks things easily. great for a drive hard car.
but the rover makes a nice car to drive. You can easily throw the family in, missus can drive it. drives smoother.ah air con.

maybe an 8 port rover next....

So Brickworx, what kind of things do you do to the rovers to get more performance from the engine?

i swear Anton we ahve done opposite
back flips on our cars!! when i first got
elmo it was goin got be modified clubbie
(AND i also thought of puttting injected
rover motort in as well!!!! ) and then i foundout
the rarity of the car and went rigy dig original
(bar the 1275cc going in  )

You started out to be original and went modified.... and
the results so far are excellent!!!! the idea of putting the
injected motor in is i think a GREAT idea and you should start
saving now so the engine will be done in time for Gannons
park where JAM can woop Elmos ARSE!!!!

I would want it in writing from someone as to what compliance level would be needed. Given a grren light there how long for delivery? The problem as I see it is trying to get someone to agree to something they have never see. Sort out the pollution requirements in NSW and I will have one.

You have the special rover diagnostic equipment to do this don't you? It's a shame no one (that I know of) in victoria does..

Do you have the capability of this brickworx?

That I know of I haven't talked to anyone who has it as yet?

If so, we may have to visit S.A. soon. My Rover uses more petrol than hubbies does. Don't know why.

Jan, twin cam engines are usually more fuel efficient than singlepoints, since the engine can breathe easier.
Also, the gearbox in MPI is different so the engine has less revs at higher speed, your car is geared for power.
