alright so here's where i'm up to.
The car has been vandilised.
Insurance are paying most to fix it, i'm paying the balance.
Basically all damage will be fixed, and the whole car will be sprayed in 2pack paint in ANY colour i want (minus pearls).
New flairs have been ordered (i can't remember what type, steve??)
and probably putting 2 winged mini badges on it.

BUT
1) the interior body work is creamy coloured, im pretty sure it's that factory creamy colour.
2) im selling the car after it is painted, what's most attractive to buyers? (red, white roof/stripes)?
3) do i exchange the flipfront for a fixed metal rover front / grill?

i need ur input australia! :P

Mike, if you are selling......paint it white or cream to match inside the doors. That option makes total sense to me.

Personally I think you limit your market with a flip front....think about changing that, if you can.

Doesn't your missus approve of the 'all new' quiet version?

If you are selling - I'd be weighing up the cost of the nose conversion back to standard, verses the additional money the sale would bring in because of this change.

I'm not sure you'll get much of a return by going to the trouble. In fact I don't think the conversion is going to make much of a difference to the sale price achieved at all. I'd sell as is.

I would apply the same logic to a paint job. Do a Cost/Benifit analysis and your logical course of action will become apparent. The trick here is to be brutily honest on projected outcomes. Don't fool yourself into thinking you'll recoup resto funds in a sale, it hardly ever pans out that way.

If you can hold off on the repairs it would be a brilliant selling point if the buyer could tell you what colour they wanted the car painted.

Maybe they could also tell you if they wanted the flip front or not :?:

After all the customers always right
