Fines in SA thats for sure.
The rules and regulations regarding Club or "Historic" licencing is pretty much the same in every state.
Maybe Cushy could fish out some webpages with more info.
I know that for historic rego your car must be deemed ORIGINAL.
Bugger that!

Ahem... I believe it can have `period modifications'...
I wouldn't call 1310/71's Clubbie totally original, and it's on club plates, no problem.
Not MCC ones, though..

It's up to the Club Plate Registrar to interpret the RTA rules......

The MCC Club Plate Registrar is a top bloke, and I respect his discretion..

Other Club Plate Registrars might see the RTA rules through different coloured glasses, and that's fine also. If you align yourself with a certain club, you go with their flow......

In regard to Cops pulling you over....if you are doing the right thing, you have nothing to worry about...if you are breaking the rules, then you deserve whatever the copper dishes out. :? The Club Plate rules are flexible enough to not have to worry about cops..... :?

Doc's right.

My car wouldn't make it onto MCC club plates as I understand it, but the club it is on club plates with do allow period modifications. They have accepted that my car falls within those exemptions. If there was ever any doubt, they would ask the owner to prove the mods were around at the time (ie magazine ads from 1971 for weber manifolds to suit a mini for example).

In NSW, the concessional registration rules were drafted by a committee which included the RTA and CMC (council of motor clubs). The RTA made it quite clear they wanted the individual clubs to administer the eligbility of an individual car, hence the car clubs went away and changed their constitution or implemented their own club rules. This is why there is some variation from club to club.

I've also never been pulled over in any of my three club plated cars but I am careful to stay within the rules and not abuse the benefits allowed.
