I remember pulling up at the lights in surfers one day next to a new monaro. Midlife-crisiss-mobile I was betting by the age of the guy. Imagine the ego damage when the a couple grands worth of 40yo english designed rust pulls up beside an attracts all the attention.

Another time I was heading home late from a date with a chick, again in surfers, me in the mini by myself, and a pair of chicks tried to pick me up at the lights. Thinking about it, in retrospect, I probably should have gone with them. :D

But the time I remember most is the massive "Pfwoar!!!!" that came out of the kid that spotted me jamming a washing machine in the back of the monster truck. He quickly disappeared to return with his mates. A corus of "Pfwoar" and a series of little fingers all pointing.

I remember the day i got Giovani. Drove him home on a double axle box trailer. Got home and thought geesh it has a front flat now how do I get it off by myself.

Looked up and down the street noticed one of the neighbours out front so ran over to get a hand. Only prob with flat tyre took both our energy just to push. Luckily his young daughter of about 8 was around, we stuck her in the car and let her steer, use handbrake to get it off and park it where it belonged.

She got out of the car and said I love this car, its little like me lol...

I havent had giovani on the road yet but my kids and a few in the street want to get minis when they are older

One time after doing some over time at work, on a friday night of all nights, i was driving home chapel st (one of melbs notorious night cruizing strips with all the bars/girls/and hotted up cars) when i was distracted by some fine examples of the female species when 2 drunking idiots jumped out infront of me to give me the thumbs up and a woo-hoo, scared the crap out of me and i hit the anchors and stalled, i regain my composure though and continued on my way!!

When ever i go out in my MK1 Cooper S i get, waves, kisses, horn toots even a guy who wanted too buy it right there and then. Even in my wife fairly decent looking white clubman we get the same, but the 12 inch Superlights on it really make it stand out.

Hay, it's not about the car, it's not about the venue, it's about the people that come here. Peter Dwyer, Mayor of Hay NSW.

always get looks and smiles from the jailbait as they walk to school....

went out to see Ross Noble (comedian, had us in tears) on saturday night and decided to get a McDonalds sundae on the way home at about 10:30. There were some 16-17yo boys hanging around outside. As I opened the door one of them shouts "has that got a cam in it", I said "ohh, just a little one", they're all going "oh cool" and "it sounds like a rotary" (which it does at idle) etc. etc. The sundae machine was frozen up, so we decided to walk to the supermarket across the other side of the shopping centre carpark. My wife walked over, and I went back to get the van. The boys were asking more questions as I walked past, and one of them goes "do a pack", turns out a "pack" is the new name for a burnout. So I laid a nice big skid through first and second gear and flicked around a couple of the traffic islands in the carpark. After we came out of the supermarket they came over and one said "I went to summernats this year, and that was waay better" - one had the nerve to say "does it have another burnout in it" - I replied "of course it does - this is faster than my VT commodore"... that floored them :D

When someone asks me whether my car has a cam in it, I just tell them no, The valves open and shut by magic. Usually they don't understand!!
