i have a collection of grilles as some would have seen.. I was told the original grilleshad a different shaped bottom slat that has a curved end. this grille also had a design error that the backing plate didnt reach the top slat so an extension was joined on to rectify the problem.. as in these pics

was also told it can make a difference to the fitting of the grille in relation to the moustache.
anyways the only point i can see to this post is that its a bit informative, and that manufacturers chop and change bits all the time making those little differences that some people obsess about for a lifetime. no matter how high you put the mini on a pedistall its just a car from a factory that was built to make money. so if your car isnt the same as your neighbours of the same make it doesnt necessarily make one non original.
if you work in a factory, do you inform your clients every time you make minor changes in production techniques? Anyone know of any other examples of this sort of thing.

Hmmm the mini I just bought (the one I told you guys about) has no grill, although they thought it might be somewhere about.
If it can't be found I will let you know Danidad. Thanks

depends on the client. if it affects their ability to operate or maintain the item in question, then we have to inform them of the changes
