Hi.
Just wondering if anyone has the musical type or plain tone air horns.
I've got the "Dixie" ones from Dukes of Hazzard.
What mounting arrangement have you used? or where could i put mine.

Cheers.
Any help appreciated.
Will.

I've got a pair of Fiamm air horns off my old Fiat 124S. They fit nicely under the LF guard, pointing down at front to keep water out.
Bloody loud- remember in the original Italian Job, when they were ramming the warehouse door with the car carrier...

A Toyota washer bottle and pump lives there too.. :P

Aren't musical horns legal if they run on a different circuit to the normal horn? (ie normal horn retained?)

Dunno about SA, but they were always illegal in NSW I believe.

AFAIK, the legality are as follows:
THey are only allowed "off road" (ie not for use whilst driving)
They must be wired to a totally separate switch which must not interfere with the operations of the original horn.

I follow all of these criteria, so up yours piggers who wanna hastle me!

Will.

sometimes dickheads in vans cut me off and dont wave and i get pissed off i sound my horn except my horn is the little squeak that is only good for saying "toodle-loo" to friends

saw "Goodbye Pork Pie" with some great mini friends, Pork Pie manages to attach train air horns on the mini and blow the hat off a cop

either i get air horns that will soil the van's driver seat or eggs left in the sun for 3months

tell me which is the better option

Two horns is the best and most legal way to go.

One to say hi (normal horn)

One to say *(&%@ off (air horns connected to seperate switch)

Or if you are in a matic... you get one that goes ARRRRRR - OOOOOOO - GARRRRRRR

Air horns ARE legal (if not musical). Fiats had 'em stock, and Ferraris, and... and.. 8)
I've had Fiamm twin ones (off one of my 3 Fiats) on the Mini for 10 years. Passes pink slip every year. No problemo. :P

They are known as a "Klakston". I'm not sure on spelling, though.
