when I had my mini going years ago, I had a set of triples mounted down the front, each red trumpet was poking out the front via the holes in the lower section of the front end. I cant remember what they were bolted to, but I have a damaged set of triples waiting for a superglue revival, they will be mounted either down below as before or along the grill. Single tone air horns = legal (and bloody loud if you mount them in the right place ;) ) I had a Klaxton before that, but it got slightly squished when I hit a dog at 110kmh

Mine are mounted in the LF wheelarch pointing down so they stay dry inside. Toyota washer bottle and pump are in there too.

My dad retro fitted a truck horn to his torana. Good for scaring the absolute crap out of people.

I have been defected for having single tone air horns.

And there I was thinking that a louder horn would be SAFER.

AFAIK, the legality are as follows:
THey are only allowed "off road" (ie not for use whilst driving)
They must be wired to a totally separate switch which must not interfere with the operations of the original horn.

I follow all of these criteria, so up yours piggers who wanna hastle me!

Will.

Musical horns or air horns?

someone who knows the law please answer the legality of the following:

1. air horns (compressor + horns)
2. musical horns (plays music)
3. the klaxon horn (no compressor, just a single unit that makes that arooogah sound)
4. the honk horn (rubber bulb with a trumpet that you squeeze and boy are they loud)

Mine are floating around in the engine bay. One day I am gonna screw those buggers to something. At least the motor is screwed nicely in place.

Hey doc get yourself some nice shiny metal twin jet squirters to replace the original squirters. I got some of them and they look a treat. With the little mini window and big wide jet of water that comes out...
