Spent the weekend stripping the rear subframe and getting it into primer. Over 5kg of compacted soil and dust removed. Interestingly there was not even one bit of surface pitting. Front subframe next.

Front seats, nearly 50 years old, have seen better days. Replaced back webbing on front pair. Upholsterer making new covers.

Went through a McDonald's drive-through - just for kicks and giggles. Got lots of both.
- Had to switch off to place the order due to decibels.
- Had to reach way up with my payment.
- Had to endure a poorly disguised smirk from the pickup window when I opened my door to get the food.
- Found out that my mini doesn't have cup-holders.

Very fun. Would recommend. Just occasionally though!

   I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve turned into a Maca’s drive through and then had to back myself out again! I can’t even get my arm out the sliding windows!

Replaced my Mk2 plastic cooling fan wth the 16 blade Mk1 fan. Cooling is better in the NQ heat.

Replaced the RH hydro line on my son's 71 Clubby.
I used 3/8 nylon semi- rigid hydraulic line, used for power steering on boats. Rated WP is 625psi.
End fittings are 3/8 compression, I made 5/8 UNF x 3/8 BSP brass fittings to connect to the original flare connectors.
When on the road with club plates I will do the other side.

Gave the old girl a run up and an expedition around town. I thought there would be trouble as I've been away with work most of the year, but first hit of the button she ran! I'd like to think the electronic points and strong coil had a piece in this, but summer warmth helps too. She seemed happy to be out of the dark.

I thought about moving all the crap in the garage to get to the Mini. Then i sighed and went back inside.

fittings I made.

Mick, it bent fine at the bottom past the steering rack.
It's pretty impossible to kink it.
If the subframe was out it would bend up and over the subframe. However I'm not pulling it out again just for that. It's going straight out back of the undertray, along the subframe and around the battery box. With some spiraflex over it there for protection.
Cost of 4M with 2 brass olives and nuts was $57, delivered.

Original length of hydro pipe was 3M so I had a lot of scrap. It's sold in 1M increments by The Boat Warehouse. It's black, made in Australia.
