Dropped into mini kingdom to see John and pick up some parts, new discs and green stuff pads for a great price.

Visited Colorfast DIY at Lawnton and picked up a few items for touching up the car. Very helpful guys there and colour matched the paint as well. Colour is closer than the last shop that tried it. Very happy.

I went & collected one of my sets of sets I have in storage & put them in my garage & started cleaning some LP883's that I have but the 36 degree heat was too much for me to do much.

Got my `nickel rod welded' 1100S head back from GR, after he machined it and fitted a new exhaust insert, and recut all the inlet seats for Mk2S valves.
This head (from Goodie) had dropped a valve, trashed the chamber and exhaust insert. But it wasn't cracked, and it passed a 700KPa water pressure test after welding.

One more 1275 head saved... :)
However, I won't sell it. It is going on my son's 1310 Clubby motor.

[edit 1] pic taken before other seats were cut.
[other edits] details added.

My dad is visiting from the UK so took him out on Saturday for a drive in the mini and let him have a drive also. After the drive we had a go at using my gunson colourtune to check the mixture and tune the carb a little. Turns out is was running a little lean so we made a small adjustment and I took it back out for a drive with the kids in Sunday. Seems to have made a difference as it ran very nicely on Sunday.

Did a re-ring on the Mk 1 engine.
How I loath using piston ring compressors. Must buy a decent one, those $12 ones made from coil steel with a ratchet are crap.
(Probably another product from The People's Democratic Republic of China)

Finally fitted engine back into moke, all clearances are perfect EXCEPT for the exhaust, which is 5cm too far over the gear change hole, so need to trim and get a flex joint (or 2...)

So if anyone gets bored this week and wants to put a moke drive line back together feel free to drop in :D (Looks hopeful towards Chong...)

Swore at it, and said Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! a couple of times. Bleeding the brakes and the 3 way banjo fitting on the firewall is leaking from the bottom (rear) line connection. Naturally you can't get your hand in there let alone a spanner. Enter excuse to buy some imperial crows foot wenches from fleaBay and I have successfully slowed it from one drop a second to one drop every 15 seconds. Now I am between the crows foot dropping off the end of the long extension and jamming on the nut. .....time for a coffee
