This one is getting the angles milled to suit an HIF44, and going to Portugal.
I have another for the 1412 van, it'll get an HS6 'coz I've got one.

I drove Gonzo to work and back today. I cranked up the tunes, did a skid for the kids and was admired by the kids in the Bus in front of me.
Good times. :)

Well.....

The one I have is an earlier RVI type which senses the coil charge current (unlike modern tachs or the Smiths RVC which are triggered by the points) and is wired between the coil and the ignition switch. This has four connections -- +12V, earth, trigger in and trigger out. The +12V feed and trigger-in comes from the ignition switch, and trigger out replaces the power feed to the + terminal on the coil.

When I first installed it, I just disconnected the coil power feed from the fuse box and extended it to the trigger-out terminal, then ran a wire from the trigger-in of the tach back to the now vacant terminal in the fuse box.

Mine however carked it after a couple of weeks and has now been converted to electronic, and is wired just like a Smiths RVC or modern tach -- +12V, earth and trigger-in which comes from the - terminal on the coil.

I washed the van tonight.
Got a photographer from a local paper coming to work to take photos of it and a couple of other cars to put in their "My Pride and Joy" section of the newspaper.
They put one car in each week with a bit of a write up.

The other cars are a work mates twin turbo 350 Chev UC Torana and another fellas VC Brock Commodore.
