Finished re-building the drivers seat. My first attempt at upholstery and pretty pleased with the result. Blasted and powder coated the frame, new rubber seat base, new Pirelli webbing, new foam throughout. The vinyl is in great shape and I believe original which would make it about 50 years old. Hard to believe it has survived that well.

Still plodding on with my 1275 (1360) assembly. Fitted clutch, sand blasting & painting bits & pieces.
Clutch cover, radiator support bkt. Etc. Purchased 3W/T 5/8" throw out brg instead of using 7W/T 5/8".

Spent ages over the last two weekends doing prep for paint repairs on the dark blue 850. Applied the "matching" top coat only to find that it doesn't match at all. Way more purple than the existing. Sad face! Thing is, when I rub it down the sanding block turns the same blue as the car. WTF?

It will have pearl or something else with the base color. It might "fade" to it but couldn't tell for sure. My old brown car was almost gold when painted then changed over a few weeks in the shed

Had a look at a suspected coolant leak, found the rad cap seal coverd in carp, cleaned said carp off, let it run of a while, no water. hmmm ordered new hoses with flush and replace anyway.

well.... after some time putting off a pain in the a$$ job I welded up the clevis pin hole in another clutch pedal and another master cylinder saddle and over a few beers got cracking.

disconnected the battery, safety first lol { cracked a can } then went about removing the drivers seat, steering column, clutch master, loosing the brake master and removing the slave cylinder.

insert swear words in bulk here .... removed the pedal box to find the clutch seized on the pivot bolt { not cool mini, not cool } after about 30 mins we got that apart.

Changed the pedal arm for one I had reco'ed inc a new bush and added more swear words while refitting the pedal box. refit slave, both masters, column, seat and other trinkets ......start bleeding both the clutch side of life and 3 knuckles and 2 spots on my right arm { mini love }

Now I have a fantastic feeling pedal and it's back to being a joy to drive :)

Took the distributor cap off and had a look at the ignition points inside. Everything looks brand new as the previous owner did a meticulous restoration. I also forked out on a torque wrench and some jack stands today so this weekend she's getting her first oil change and spark plug service.

Also just joined these forums so looking forward to learning a thing or three.

That's what the registration papers say :?

It's a 1977 Leyland Mini with a rebuilt 998cc engine.

The "Cooper" was the twin carb model from the early 60's and the "Cooper S" was mid 60's to early 70's. Some people can be a bit particular about calling other cars "Coopers". Nice looking car from your other post though!

Thanks mate, cheers for clarifying. I'm still a bit of a noob with all the Mini model variations out there.
