hey all,
after attempting to install new leds into my old led tacho something somewhere has gone haywire and now its doesnt work. It doesnt bother me too much as it only cost me $15 in the first place and atleast i got to practise my soldering!! Anyhow does any one have a wiring diagram so i can make another or know if dick smith or jarcar or similar sells kits to make one, thanks. I know the have a led number one, i want one that is just a line a leds.

Well...if it was working previously...you have either put the wrong LEDs in or you have a "dry"solder joint....did you clean the legs of the LEDs to bright metal before soldering???

or you could have put to much heat into the pcb allowing the copper tracks to lift and or break

Ditto....yeah over heating solder joints as min13k has suggested is another possibility!! If you find broken tracks .....just carefully "bridge" them with braided solder flux or similar....make sure you are using a tiny soldering iron if the tracks are tiny :!: :!: :!:

Did you make sure the Led was the in the correct way. Being a diode they can only pass juice one way... Just something to consider
Jaycar and dicksmith both have kits about $70 if i remember right.

cheers
mark
