Hi Bernard
I dont like to compare the RE13 to the new cam because thats
my old favourite iv had it for years that was my first road cam
of my design it has more duration and lift than the new cam
and should make more hp on the top end, but the new one
will make more down low and in the mid ranges but in saying
that the new cam appears to be making as much as the RE13
but at a lot lower reves.
Yes i will be doing more with mini experence.

Hi Mick
To answer the first part of your question the new cam is nothing
like your cam its much smaller in both duration and lift its a
very mild road cam that performs well out of its class,
the head i used with this cam was a good road head not as good
as yours but still a good head.

ok,,, i wasn`t going to post anymore to this thread, i figured it had all been said & if anyone doesn`t understand it all then so be it

but,,, all i can say now is,,,welll,,, let the games begin :-)

word will surely spread & i expect there will be "some" players,,, (But maybe not)
i`m not one of them tho , , , , i have too much respect for what GR has done & is doing,,, but i will send him one of my little 5-port heads to test,,, (it`s one i ported when i was 16 years old),,, & it`s had a pretty massive chamber shape done since then but only to effect a rather large "Lowering" of compression ratio to suit my road motor, so i`m not confident of it`s abilty to out--perform GRs best head, & i`m almost certain it won`t match his "Low to mid" range Torque but still,,, Ports are probably a litte too big ,,, It works well as my road head on my 1500cc donk & that`s all i use it for now,,, But i would like to see what GR says about it`s "Over-all" performance.

I will be handing it to GR at the Morgan Pk Hystericals.

But,,, to make this loud & clear,,, i am "NOT" claiming anything here with "THIS PARTICULAR HEAD" ,,, it`s just one of my old favourites & i`d like to see what he thinks,,,

that`s all

& GR,,, that`s only if you`d like to set it up & test it,,, if you`re not interested then that`s cool, just let me know at Morgan Pk , ok???

edit---> Oh & i`m not going to play the game because i believe we would need "COMPLETE ENGINE PACKAGE" to compare both torque & HP figures,,, not just heads stuck onto the same engine,,, surely that`s obvious???

anyways,,, just thought i`d mention that so anyone who doesn`t know how things wrk may get the idea,,, or at least part of an idea :-)

I actually spent half of today working on this engine,,, helping set up the autronic & cam & crank angle sensors etc & got it fired up on the dyno

Image

sorry for the poor photo, a friend of mine was a bit shakey taking the pic for me,,, this thing makes quite a lot of noise :-)

yes big block ford with twin turbos & autronic sequential injection,,, MASSIVE GRUNT,,, will this engine package compare ??? :-) It has 8 ports,,, in each head :-)

Hi Matt
That goes without saying it would have to be a complete motor
Just for the record for thoes who question how accurate
my dyno is the weights are there any time some body wants to
check it, Keith Calver just sent a motor out to one of my friends
a sprite 1560cc and from the dyno Keith used in england
to mine there was only 1ftlb of torque differance between the two
dynos (engine dyno not drive on)

I might pop down this weekend GR and see where your at RE the new cam. Am going to be separating my 1100 from the box this week, and maybe a cam would be worth trying in it.

Hi Graham

Thanks for the reply, agree the RE13 is a great cam

The only reason i compared it to the RE13 cam is its what i am running in my current engine and it was easy for me to compare to.

More torque Hp down low would be great especially here in NZ with all our twisty roads

Keep up the good work

Regards

Bernard

HI Kuzzy
Heads are in production been doing some flow testing with some
other valves to see if we can get some better flow at low lifts,
and doing some more work with camshafts.

Dear Mods,

I remember when John from Mini King became active within the forum and at the time it seemed appropriate to update his status from 'noob' to something akin to his accepted status within the mini community.

Could I propose that Graham's status (L Plate) be similarly changed to something appropriate to reflect our appreciation, his dedication, history, contiribution and involvement in the Mini family?

Just a thought.

Regards
