Well the engine is out and i have begun to sand back the engine bay in preperation for some better paint. The paint was ok but had started to dissapper due to unforseen loss of brake fluid on it...
The enigine will be parked up in the garage and a fresh one put in, when i get it put together. everything is done bar the assembly of engine to gearbox, clutch etc.

Fun Fun!

Cheers

Aaron

Are engine bays painted any differently to the exterior of a Mini..? How does the paint on the inside cope with the heat and oil and stuff... (might be a silly question I know.. but it has sparked my interest)

Brake fluid will eat paint and heat certainly isn't it's friend. But unless you can find heat resistant paint that can be mixed up to create the colour of the car, i will be using std paint on mine. It shouldn't be fine as long as all the correct heat sheild are in place.

the engine of course needs high temp paint.

Cheers

yeh normally engine bays have the same paint used externally on the car
it'd be more resistant if you painted the car with 2pak
not sure if totally resistant
