4 speed synchro remote control gerbox. I'm told you can get a reverse light switch which simply screws into a detent. All french to me. Is it really as simple as screwing in a switch into an existing hole which is already threaded? Is it easily done or do you have to dismantle the whole car? What's a detent - isn't that something to do with foreign policy? Any ideas on where to get such a switch from?

Thanks for your help.

I put some info re this switch recently. Do a search. You need the switch and a metal rod and it fits in place of the gearbox reverse detent hex plug directly below the oil filter.

You still need the little steel rod. Thats the switch and the reverse detent plunger.
