Not sure if it is any help.....But in regards to the holes, I'm told that it is acceptable to have them there if they rolled off the factory floor that way (NSW).

Hey FatMaserati,

It may be a pain to have the car inspected every year but if you make sure everything is in good working order and (semi) legal you don't have any real hassles besides its a good way to discover other problems.

It also keeps all the dodgy shitboxes of the road. When I last visited Queensland I could not believe the state of some of the cars on the roads - cars that even the wreckers would not want

same like that in every state. Thanks Mitsubishi for making the Magna and TOyota for the ever failthful keeps on running even when the rust goes straight through Corolla and Camry...

People knock me for having a 40 year old car, but at least my baby dont blow smoke..!

And yes I am knocking wood now profusely..!

i had the same problem at scrutineering. now because my basher as a stripped interior, you can see the gap between the rear parcel shelf and the outer skin in between the rear windscreen and the outer panel. they said i had to fill it in to make sure there were no holes between the cabin and the boot where the petrol tank is. Fine i can understand that.

But every mini that turned up that had an interior, whether registered or not, did not have to fill these very same holes because they were hidden under the trim. hardly a fireproof barrier now is it? i mentioned this at the time to the chief scrutineer who went over it with a fine tooth comb, and he shrugged his shoulders and said that he could see mine so he had to tell me to fix it.
:?
