After the dramer of Morris cooling System the Altanaotor brack broke
Sp Marcia has given up her 17acr altanator
The only thing with this is that the IGn light is on full time. This should not be happening as it was reco'd and packed away.

Any one know if the additional wire (3 in total) just goes to same spot on the starer solinoid.

Cheers and thanks

I had the same problem, my altenator was charging, all my wiring was ok but the alt light stayed on. In the end I just took out the alt light from the instrument panel, that fixed it!

I checked the altenator with a proper voltage tester and everything, it's been a few months now and still no problems.

With all Lucas alternators used on Minis the ignition light is a part of the charging circuit. If you take the bulb out, sorry- it can't charge!
