this is some pics of the basic set-up of the 6 speed squential shift gear set in a mini case

1st gear is on the left of pic. it is quite a bit bigger than std mini.

the end is milled to a depth of 25mm from the original face and a hole opened up for the shift drum to fit in. the main shaft is fitted into original bearing holes. a new 25mm plate with bearing holes is bored to suit shaft center dist and is then welded into position.

just a little of clearance with 1st gear, but piece welded over to blend into case

the bike mainshaft with spline ground onto the end to take mini pinion

plenty of room underneath main shaft for the new oil pick up position

the selector drum sits roughly in this position.
the reverse gear is mounted to the main and input shafts and is engaged by a sliding idler gear

what kind of cost to build something like this 10K plus.

the gear set is a std honda cbr 1100 RR bike. 1st is 2.75:1 and 6th is 1.1:1
the honda vfr 800 [and the new 1200 bike] run the same shafts and center dist etc. the gears are inter-changable but they are 1st 2.89:1 and 6th is .89:1 better for a road car

price????????????????? probably about 1/3 of what you reckon. do not know at this stage until it is all finished

racking yer brain trying to make it work in your head

working those machines to get it to work in your car

and must say, suitably impressed, and keen/intrigued to see/hear it running.

and is the 6th gear make the mini a lot quieter?? ie 3000rpm at 100km-h?

and what sort of power can it handle? I was thinking of a 5 speed box, but this could be quite exciting. would it handle a Downton 1310cc with stage 3 head and twin 1.5" Sus??

Surely it'd be a sequential stick.

It's the closes to the bike's foot peg arrangement.

that is sooo awesome!!!!

the gears are straight cut?? i would think it's going to defeat the point anyways.

good for a race car though kick ass!
