I am thinking about building a dash for my car later down the line, I've already got some quotes for bits n pieces, anyway:
Completely stripped back, are there any differences between the roundy and clubby firewall/dash area?
I would want to get the clubby style top and bottom rail, but am unsure of if it will fit, as they look considerablyy different. Also, what are the clubby parts made of?
Thanks.

firewall was the same right up to 1977, when the hole in the firewall was no longer put in.

You can fit top and bottom clubby dash pads easily. The bottom is glued on (plus some upholstery clips) to the metal rail. The top pad bolts on. If the roundy doesn't have holes, the top dash pad has bolts sticking out of it, which you can use to 'mark' the metal rail, them drill. Easy stuff.

The clubby dash pads are great, but clubby binnacles are pretty '70's styled' :?

I was only going to use the rails, not the gauges or anything.
Thanks.

I was thinking about it. They look the best.
The other thing I was thinking was to get a dashboard lasercut from aluminium, and have it anodised dark blue. I'll do the same with a center console.
The only thing I'm still sorting out for that is whether the dash should be curved, or left straight.

I am just about to order a custom dash from a UK manufacturer. I have specified everything (colour, dials, no vents etc) and it is £110 landed on my door. I was going to make my own.....but this guy's quality is exceptional.....so I won't waste my time.....
