meeni,

i also have sorta a flat spot, kinda cause i run a 310 scatter cam, so it does not pick up till around 4500 rpm.... but i just get round that by high idle and lots of revs :D

when u changed your exhaust, did you change the air filter aswell? have a fiddle with your needle. take it out, place it on a flat surface and give it a light file.... (up the top near the plastic black bit) might help. check your timing, points plugs etc...

let me know!

It could be the result of the timing/dwell not liking that bit. But generally it is the amount of fuel getting to the engine. Don't use a file. Use sandpaper. And, do you know where on the needle to use it ? Of course not. Neither does anyone else until you find the spot that's causing the problem. Yes you can find that spot if you know how. Or unless you're really liucky or spend money with Kev or Steve or Matt, etc. Could I find it ? Yes. But it would take me a week. I don't do it for a living so I'm dumb. (Nah, make that slow) First off try cleaning all the oil out of the cash pot and use ATF or 3 in 1. Them leyts talk.

smithy who knows very little

It could be the result of the timing/dwell not liking that bit. But generally it is the amount of fuel getting to the engine at that particular time. Unless you know how please do not use a file. Use a fine grade of sandpaper. Do you know exactly where on the 16 measuring points on
an SU needle to use that sandpaper ? From here I don't. Neither does anyone else until you find the spot that's causing the problem. Yes you can find that spot if you know how. Or unless you're really lucky or spend money with Kev or Steve or Matt, etc. Could I find it ? Yes. But it would take me a week. I don't do it for a living so I'm dumb. (Nah, make that slow) First off all try clraining all the oil out of the dashot and use ATF or 3 in 1. Then let's talk.
