Hi If any one would like some Cooper s Grill spacers drop me an email. I have supplied some Ausmini members as well as my local mini friends and I will re do another run if there is any demand. I think most of the info you need is on this topic site. Regards Pete. |

Got mine today, very good. Actually whether you have an S/cooler or not the best feature I found is the fact that they are a tight fit on the screw so the screws always stay attached to the grille meaning you cant lose the screws. I always found refitting the grille frustrating with the screws going everywhere but these keep them nice and straight and lined up with the holes when refitting the grill. Phill |

Old thread, but I have a similar question. How many screws should there be holding the front grill on? and do you use the spacers even at the top 2 screws near the bonnet release? cheers fellow mini peeps. |

Just checked my 68 build S. My grille, as far as I can remember, only had 6 screws even though there are holes for 10 screws. The bottom 2 holes in front of the oil cooler are not used and only 2 of the 3 holes on each side of the grille have screws. The middle holes don't appear to have ever been used. All screws are fitted with spacers. If you have an early MK1 S with the small vertical oil cooler then the bottom 2 screws are also used and there are no spacers. The difference in screw length 1/2" vs 3/4", as per Doug's info, is probably the difference between cars with early and late oil coolers. Hope this helps RonR |

Thanks RonR, Mine is a mid year 1970 Mk2, so I have the normal horizontal oil cooler. |

Mini parts book PUB1056M shows 6 spacers being used for the Cooper S grille, in the positions miniron has said above - 1 through each of the two the little extension pieces at the top, and 2 each side through the flat sheet behind the horizontal bars. |
